(What's Come) Over Me

Intro: D

D G
You're in the light and in the dark
                        D
In the peace and in the chaos
                           G
In a world that's ours for naming
                             D
You're in my sleeping and my waking
  A G Bm
A vision in my ears and in my eyes
  A G
A lover in disguise
    A G A G D
Surprised again by what's come over me

D G
You're in the color and the sound
                       D
In every joy and every sorrow
                            G
You're in the faces of each stranger
                       D
In estrangement and in failure
A G Bm
Flowing in my blood and on my tongue
   A G
My heart pounds like a drum
 A G A G D
Undone again by what's come over me

Bm A Bm A
In the books I read and in the air I breathe
    G F# A F#
You live and move and have your being
Bm G
There's a window in the wall
Bm G
There you are behind it all
G F# Bm A
The holy dream becomes a holy face, and it leaves me reeling

D G
You're in the sunshine and the rain
                      D
In open spaces and in shadows
                          G
You're in my incantatious longing
                          D
"Come unto me" I hear you calling
      A G Bm
And I fear the very thing I'm looking for
        A G
There's someone at my door
    A G A G D
I'm floored again by what's come over me
      A G A G D
I'm floored again by what's come over me
              A G A G D
Yes, I'm floored again by what's come over me.

Notes from Jerry Pruit:

This is a wonderful song of praise to the Almighty for His omniscience and omnipresence. I think it's best to get the acoustic version from the FTPsite and try to imitate the style of play on there. Try to get the fills right, especially coming in and going out of the bridge, stressing the low E string; it really gives it a bass feel. I like to play it slow and steadywith a country feel, but lots of raw emotion in the vocals.
